“Global Career Track” to develop candidates for next generation of executive managers

In 2019, we introduced a “Global Career Track” position for employees with the potential to be the next generation of the Company’s executive managers, once they have experienced different kinds of work and gained a comprehensive understanding of the management environment both in Japan and overseas. The career track includes managerial personnel, who are active as managers and are close to top management, and expert personnel, who possess a high level of expertise and are actively engaged in the company’s medium- to long-term growth. The aim is to offer a career path that aligns with the career ambitions and characteristics of different employees. We have also established area career track and general clerk career track positions in order to realize a work-life balance that is compatible with our employees’ diverse work styles and career aspirations.

Training System

In order to develop human resources with the qualities and abilities needed to realize further growth for Sodick, we have established a skill development system for the personal growth and career development of each employee.

Training System

Position-specific training

As a common basic education for Sodick as a whole, we conduct position-specific training to acquire the mindset and skills required for each position.

Purpose-Based Training

  • Overseas Training System

    In 2018, we have established an overseas training system that allows employees who are engaged in work closely related to overseas subsidiaries to conduct work and technical training at our overseas bases or overseas education and research institutes. Through several months of training at overseas factories and sales bases, we are promoting the acquisition of work experience and interaction between employees.

  • Next-generation management training through the Long-Term Management Planning Project

    As we formulate our long-term vision, we are implementing a unique selective training program dedicated to training candidates for the next generation of management. Lectures on strategic thinking, organizational management, leadership, etc. are given by outside instructors. In addition, regular group discussions are held to flesh out the Group's management issues and measures for each business.
    In the 2018 training, each group gave a presentation at the end of the training, aligning their thoughts on the long-term vision and deepening its content.
    In 2023, we are also conducting a project to formulate a new long-term management plan to be announced in February 2024, which will also serve to train the next generation of leaders.

  • SDGs Training

    In January 2020, SDGs training was held, and more than a dozen staff members from the management department of the Head Office participated.
    We invited an outside lecturer to deepen our understanding of the essence of SDGs by utilizing SDGs card games.

Foreign National Technical Intern Program

For the purpose of improving the technology of overseas factories, we accept foreign technical intern trainees from Thai and Chinese factories, share manufacturing technology and provide technical guidance.
