Sumo club members Hayato Miwa and Shun Ikeda received the 2023 Ishikawa Prefecture Sports Excellence Award (Ishikawa Prefecture Governor’s Commendation) August 28, 2024

Hayato Miwa and Shun Ikeda of our Sumo Team received the 2023 Ishikawa Prefecture Sports Excellence Award (Ishikawa Prefecture Governor's Commendation).

The award was given in recognition of Miwa's victory in the individual competition at the 65th All Japan Businessmen's Sumo Tournament and the gold medal at the World Combat Games, and Ikeda's victory at the 72nd Emperor's Cup All Japan Sumo Tournament.

The Sumo Club was founded in April 2019 with the aim of fostering good corporate citizens, and members of the club engage in competitions while balancing their work duties. The Sumo Club also contributes to the community through sumo, such as teaching local sumo classes.
The club will continue to aim for higher rankings in various tournaments and to engage in a variety of activities ranging from the promotion and development of sumo to the guidance and nurturing of young people.
