Sumo wrestler Miwa participates in the open weight division at the World Combat Games and won the championshipOctober 30, 2023

In October 2023, Miwa, a member of Sodick Sumo Team, represented Japan in the sumo competition at the World Combat Games, an international martial arts tournament held in Saudi Arabia.

In the middle weight class (below 115kg), he lost in the semi-final and regrettably won the bronze medal. However, Miwa won the tournament in the open weight class, and was crowned the world's number one wrestler.

Sodick Sumo club plans to participate in several competitions held in Japan and overseas in the future. We look forward to your continued warm support.
