IMTS 2014

Held every two years in America!
IMTS 2014 — One of the world’s three major machine tool trade fairs

One of the world’s three major machine tool trade fairs, IMTS 2014, was held in Chicago, Illinois, over six days from September 8 to 13, 2014.
IMTS stands for the International Manufacturing Technology Show. It is popularly known as just the “Chicago Show” and is held at MacCormick Place, Chicago, every two years on even years. (The previous show was in 2012.)

It is a huge event that attracts more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world.
Sodick was represented by Sodick Inc., our North American sales and marketing company. Their displays tailored to suit the local market were aimed at the aerospace, energy, medical, and automotive industries and proved extremely successful.

Guide to the Sodick booth

The entrance to the Sodick booth was in a great location up an escalator in front of the Lakeside Center (East building) .
The Sodick in-house made long linear motor stage set up at the entrance to the booth captured the attention of visitors with its dynamic sliding motions.
The display was tailored to the American market, with all the featured machines performing demonstrations to show off the strong points of each product.

It was Sodick’s 18th appearance at the show since we debuted in 1980. At that time, there were few exhibits by Japanese manufacturers, which made Sodick a pioneer exhibitor at IMTS.
Subsequently, IMTS also gave Sodick a foothold to expand its sales in North America.
